Scars, scratches, bruises, broken bones – these are the physical reminders of the journey that we are all on as Wahine Toa. Sometimes we look at the wrinkles, the scars, the “imperfections” and we judge – we judge each other, and we judge ourselves. But you know what? Those marks, and the matching ones inside of our souls and minds, are what make us who we are. And I am here to tell you that YOU are beautiful because of your scars, not in spite of them.
This Pendant represents and reminds us that we are who we are, and that we can powerfully take ownership of our true beauty, inside and out.
It is made from fine silver, hammered to create a unique texture that represent our own personal scars, bumps and breaks on this journey through life – and to show the intense beauty we all have when we embrace those scars. The triangle shape is that of the Toki – a powerful symbol of courage and strength to the Maori People of New Zealand; and axe traditionally used to fight, to show status and to present power. The pendant is wrapped in fine silver wire and finished with a delicate koru- a spiral that means new beginnings, hope and truth in Maori culture.
The necklace is available in 3 sizes and the silver chain measures 45cm in length:
- Small: measuring 1cm x 2.5cm
- Medium: measuring 1.5cm x 3.5cm
- Large:measuring 2cm x 5cm
