Mary has been working with leadlight and stained glass windows for the past 15 years. As well as crafting original, one-of-a-kind pieces, Mary also rescues and restores damaged windows. Following the February 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, Mary became a frequenter of the many demolition companies around Canterbury where she recovered windows from many of the city’s classic villas, historic cathedrals, and iconic shops. Although she has an appreciation for all styles, she takes particular inspiration from the art nouveau and art deco designs. She frames her artwork so they can easily be inserted into existing widows or hung by chain either inside or out.
